RONAN 'RONOPOTAMUS' MCLOUGHLIN (Ireland)

Picture of Ronopotamus

Speciality:
Poi

Ronan started spinning poi 6 years ago and soon found his way into the fire spinning and juggling communities. Since then, poi and object manipulation became the biggest passion and addiction of his life. He spent last summer in Paris where he was invited to teach masterclass poi workshops at Uberparis. More recently Ronan has started to look towards different forms of object manipulation for inspiration. He says that 'by looking at poi from different perspectives and breaking away from limiting preconceptions about how poi is used and what is possible with this object, I hope to push poi in new directions towards new infinities'. With such inspiration for the future we are delighted to feature one of Ireland's best poi spinners at the festival.

Last year he enjoyed teaching at master-class event UberParis, and further on at Faya festival, Play festival, and the European Juggling Convention. He is a member of “Les Ballapapass”, the juggler’s association running the Belleville’s Street Art & Juggling festival, for which he has performed in cabaret style events.
